This ultra sound was taken at 18 weeks. (Helen is 7 months now). Helen and I may splurge and set up an appointment for a high-tech ultrasound found at this website.

What I do know after talking to many parents, is the time raising your child and life seems to hit warp speed. I already should be hitting that mid-life crisis mode, but isn't 36 the new 26? I'd like to think that way.

Baby registries, imaging and other stuff

I'm going to make Helen(depsite of her difficult and busy M.D. schedule) do some posting so we can both share our thoughts on parenting. But for the main point of this blog is to share perspectives on Dad's that take the leap and decide to stay home. Oh, and share news with family and friends. Duh.

We both feel we don't want the "leaving my kids at daycare" guilt. Our study of data seems to indicate better outcomes for parents that stay at home with there kids during the first 3 years. Financially speaking, we'll take the hit but luckily I've always managed to to squeeze creativity in my life in one form or another through painting and drawing. Art is something I've always done, and felt the need to do. I'll find a way to be both a parent and artist. As Bravo's Project Runways Tim Gunn says, "Make it work!"

We've set up our registries for any friends or family. The gifts are great but your thoughts and love are just as good.
